Delivery & Set Up
Campers will be delivered and set up fore you. At the end of your camping trip we will pick up the camper so all you have to do is show up with your food and personal items.
The following services are provided with your rental
Prior to delivery -
Once at your campsite -
Renters will be provided with complete instructions on all of the above and as appropriate for the unit you are renting. You will also be provided with 24 hour telephone numbers in order to contact Icy Hollow in the event you encounter a problem.
Units will be supplied with various cooking utensils, pots, pans, clean linens, blankets, pillows, toilet paper, waste tank additive and various other necessities as indicated for the particular unit or as agreed to.
If you have other special requests for set up, delivery to the campsite or items not listed on this website just let us know. Our aim is to make your camping trip as work free as possible.
Note: Most rental companies do not permit the use of the awning. We allow the use of the awning but the renter assumes the risk for any damages. We provide instructions to the renter in how to properly set up, use and take down the awning. All renters are instructed not to leave the awning up in windy conditions, while away from the camp site or while sleeping. Wind gusts and heavy rain can quickly damage the awning and trailer. Any damages incurred through the use of the awning is the complete responsibility of the renter. Icy Hollow reserves the right to restrict the use of the awning for on beach rentals or when severe weather is predicted. In such circumstances and when available, we will provide portable sun canopies in lieu of the awning.
Delivery to public campgrounds:
Most campgrounds will require that the customer is meet us at that campground registration office at the time of delivery. This is because the camper who is registering the camping spot must have a tent or camper and be ready to set up at the time when they are registering at the campground. They will also require information on the tow vehicle and trailer at that time. For the most part, this isn't a problem. We will coordinate arrival times with the customer and do our best to accommodate your schedules. Arriving at the campground and setting up while you are there also gives us the opportunity to go over everything with you and to answer any last minute questions. Set up usually takes about a half hour depending upon the configuration of the site and any accessories that you may have requested from us. For private campgrounds and deliveries to private homes or businesses, we can arrange to have the trailer delivered and set up prior to your arrival. This does require that you visit us prior to your rental period so that we can go over the use and operation of the unit and any accessories you have ordered.
Customer Towing:
We can now deliver off long Island within the immediate area. For customers that want to travel beyond the area and are experienced in towing, we offer some of our campers for towing off the Island by the customer. The customer must certify that they are experienced in driving a tow vehicle with a large trailer. The customer's vehicle will be checked prior to pick up to to ensure that it has the appropriate weight rating for the trailer, proper and working electrical connector, working electric brake controller and a receiver hitch of adequate rating. Unfortunately, we do not install any of these items. Should you need any of these items installed we recommend that you take your vehicle to a trailer repair facility. We reserve the right not to rent a trailer for customer towing if we are not satisfied with the tow vehicle, the driver's ability or experience or the nature of the trip. Please note that we do not have over the road service and any repairs necessary will be at the expense and arrangement of the customer.
Outer Beach Camping:
Outer beach camping is available at certain Suffolk County Parks. This is when the camper is trailered out onto the beach and not in a designated campground with road access. We prefer to deliver to beach campgrounds such as Smith Point and Hither Hills rather than to deliver a camper to an outer beach but we can make certain units available for outer beach camping.
Note: An additional fee applies to all outer beach camping. This fee is to cover the additional costs and clean up associated with camping on the outer beaches. Please contact us for pricing if you are considering outer beach camping. Please also note that not all of our units are equipped or available for outer beach camping.
* A housekeeping fee will be charged if the camper is not cleaned prior to pick up. The housekeeping fee is $100
** Pets add additional wear on the trailer and require additional cleaning. While we do not prohibit pets we do require an additional fee. Campers should be aware that they are responsible for any damage caused by their pet.
